profile pic problems  5th Apr '08 2:39 AM

I'm trying to upload a picture and when I click on save it acts like its uploading then it says that I have no picture selected. I'm not really tech saavy so I don't know how to deal with this.

Note that the picture should be square in proportions (or it will be squashed/elongated) and it MUST be a .jpeg, a .jpg or a .gif file - and be less than 80kb in size. You will get the message you have quoted (although it's incorrect information) if you try to upload a pic that is bigger than this.

Hopefully this should sort it out, Taylor - but tell bobs12 or us if you still have problems.

Spot on, Stockster Quite probably it's the file size. The uploader used to tell you that was the problem, but it seems to have gone a bit odd. Will improve it one day, time permitting.

Also note that .gifs sometimes get slightly mangled by the server.

Stockster is now the official VR tech support rep Heh heh, been looking for a volunteer for long enough

But, I am afraid that it's truly a case of "Now you see him - Now you don't!!!"....

Oh-oh! - I've gone again...

Setting aside my undoubted techno abilities (doh!) for one moment, bobs12 - My particular speciality is, in fact, that of the "BEER and CURRY HELL" party .....

This you will, no doubt, find out first-hand - if you tomorrow manage to reliably get yourself (and, perchance, some friends), around (at about 13.00) to "Chez Taj Mahal". (as my pad will swiftly become known in the St-Pee region)

Aye Me, Lena and a Sheffielder will be round at the Taj roughly 13:00-ish for an afternoon of curry pain

Spot on - and I'll see you all tomorrow then.

The CURRY (of the "CURRY HELL" bit) tried to crawl out the door of its own accord earlier this evening - but I hauled it back and said it had to wait...

But, bobs12 - we really must stop cluttering up the threads with our personal chit-chat... What is PM for???

(but really bobs12 and I merely want to hint at how really GREAT our social life is in St-Pee)

Sad f*kc*rs, arent we???!!!

That had occurred to me, but we have to keep the forum post count up to create the illusion of activity at VisaRus Towers you must admit, 'forum alert' is a lot more exciting than 'you've got spam' er, I mean 'mail'.

You can't (Scottishtalk = "But yae cannae" give a guy a new job by merely changing his title on the (this wee) site..!!!

If that were the case I would (if I had the power of our beloved Vebmeister) be changing some bods epiphets - bigtime - and pronto!!! (and no mistake)

And I'm talkin' to yae ..... (Jimmae)....

Achhhhh! (See yooooo, Jimmae! <another series of phlegms> - I've metamorphosed ag'in.... ...and popped another dollop of 'currae pooder' in bobs12's portion fae t'marra

Hmm... Stockwell Bin Laden today? come on, I have to pretend that at least one person other than me occupies the VisaRus tower. And anyway, think how much entertainment this is for the guests

The Curry of Mass Destruction shall doubtless be sought out and mercilessly destroyed by VR forces tomorrow

"You're welcome!" (as is globally taught to be the correct response in English...)

However, being a native-speaker talking to another native-speaker, I know I can say my normal "No problem!" - with no fear of misunderstanding....

Ah, reminds me of my crusade against 'textbook English' and its uselessness in the context of the real world there are some ex-students out there that can even understand the word, 'dyawannacuppatea?' and decipher an array of other incomprehensible-to-mere-mortal-non-native-speaker words
