BKC internship or similar  24th Oct '07 4:08 PM

I noticed in the schools directory for BKC Bobs mentioned about this internship, I can't get info on this for the Saint Petersburg branch, does it exist there?

In there anything similar to this in Piter that has info on the web?

No doubt bobs12 will pop up with a definitive answer soon on this - but I fear that the answer is in the negative and that BKC (and many others) do all their training solely in Moscow.

Writing to me way back in in 2003, someone in their training dept also told me that they only employed people with a recognised TEFL. (and then, sounding very hopeful, offered me a pretty cr*ppy hourly rate for after I had qualified).

Probably the easiest and best way, if you are considering joining up with BKC, is to email their recruitment dept using the email given on their site. Then you will have it from the horse's mouth....

I'll definitely look into it. In the meantime it's worth contacting Educacentre.

I'd steer clear of the big chain schools. They can get too up themselves about contracts and conditions. Plus the new visa shit may pave the way for enslavement.

If you want to take the internship route in St. Petersburg, I'm pretty certain that Language Link offers internships there, or at least in Piter's suburbs.

Yeh, I might look into that further, I know the initial two weeks training is in Moscow only, but perhaps you can then select Piter - I see there are vacancies in Piter for interns.

I had looked at LL before, I must have missed the intern part, I just caught the work-study programs... and their cost 5000 - 1000 bukaroos.

hmm...but then again..it's 9 months of guff wages...and at the end of the day, the pivo isn't going to pay for itself now is it

I imagine it would be pretty worth while though at least to someone in my position.
