Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Siberia! ;) Where to go and what to do  23rd Sep '07 6:47 AM

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has any info about any schools in Siberia. My girlfriend and I would like to teach somewhere in Siberia starting asap. We are currently teaching in South Korea. What are the working hours like and do schools in siberia require a celta/etc as we don't have one. There is ad for 4 jobs at Language Link in Krasnoyarsk. Is this school okay?

Thanks,
Loki

Try the school directory - there are a few reviews from teachers in Siberian schools there, and you can just contact the schools on the lists to see if they have vacancies.

The reviews have some info about working hours, wages, etc.

Tecahing in Tomsk 15th Feb '08 6:59 AM

I'm currently working in a language school in Tomsk (~250km from Novosibirsk). Its an exciting town of around half a million people, with a very energietc atmosphere thanks to the huge student population (six universities!). The school I work for is very professional, has a good range of resources and arranges visas, accommodation etc.
The school is looking for a native speaker to teach in the next academic year, starting September. If you're interested, send me a PM and I'd be happy to provide more info.

Hey there!

I would be more than interested in the school you are currently teaching at in Tomsk.
I'm actually looking for a teaching job in that city.
I first hooked up with a university in early january but it turns out that all the bureaucratic process of making it a little bit stressful so I am currently trying to get in touch with other schools...

There are lots of schools listed on the directory in Novosibirsk. As most schools in Siberia seem to employ only one native speaker, you and your girlfriend may have to work in different schools. There seem to be lots and lots in Novosibirsk...just in case Tomsk doesn't work out

Yep, please use the directory

Russian School Directory

It's by no means comprehensive and exhaustive - there may be many more schools that I haven't found. Unfortunately, not enough people donate to the cause for me to go off on mad reconnaissance trips
