Viewing topic: Job prospects in Khanty Mansiysk

Hello all!

I am Derick from Ireland. I am 24 years old and I am currently teaching in Slovakia. I have been an EFL teacher for three years (Tempus fugit).

I am planning to move to Russia in the coming months for personal reasons. I am going there on a tourist visa because I am afraid that there may not be so many jobs in Tyumen, Khanty Mansiysk or Uray and, if that is the case, I shall have to return to Slovakia, Estonia or the Ukraine.

I was wondering if anyone has already taught there, what are their impressions of the place, what schools to avoid, what bureaucratic problems I may have to face, etc...?

Would it be possible to get part-time hours in a Russian primary or secondary school?

I hope to hear of your experiences in Tyumenskaya oblast.
