 Good news  19th May '06 5:44 AM

Gday guys. Got some good news! I've been writing to a few schools East of the Urals, and have received a couple of pretty firm offers! One is in Novosibirsk, teaching whatever classes need a teacher, including business classes, other adults and children. The other offer is from a children's school in Tomsk. This one sounds more up my alley - I love working with kids! So I guess at this stage I'm leaning in the Tomsk direction.

Originally I wanted to teach in Irkutsk. I thought it would be great to live near Lake Baikal, and check it out before they build that dam oil and gas pipeline across it! But from a few sketchy reports and a little but of internet research, Tomsk has really piqued my interest. Has anyone been there? Got any stories about the place?

Over and out

Best of luck! I don't know if anyone here has been to any of those places - you can be the first! When do you move?

Sounds cool. Don't let Bobs scare you off the kids, I like the kids too, at least they are easily intertained. I would be interested to hear about how it goes as well.

Keep us informed.

Hey guys, thanks for the well wishes. The job doesn't start until early next year (wanted to get things sorted as early as possible). I would love to be taking off a lot sooner, but unfortunately I'm a bit of a slave to other commitments until then. I'll be sure to keep you informed as to how it all goes, and hopefully catch up for a beer or seven in StP or somewhere.

Sounds like a plan! Always good to arrange things well in advance. Not like I do. I habitually leave things to the last minute. Doesn't make for a stress-free lifestyle, I can tell ya!

Sounds a bit Mark Twain-esque. Or maybe Rudyard Kipling. Hell, it could have been me
