Forum alerts again  28th Apr '06 1:59 PM

I think I've cracked the hardest part of it.

If you use the forums on esl.visarus.co.uk you'll see a 'forum alerts' link. Any time someone replies to your forum topic (or adds a reply to a topic you are discussing) from the new site, you'll be given a link to go direct to the topic. That means no more hunting through the forums to see if anyone's replied.

You can delete your forum alerts if you don't want to be notified about any further replies.

Let me know if you like it! - I'll shortly add an option to get alerts on topics where you're not actually participating, and an option to be notified of any new topics in a particular forum.

Have fun!

Quick poll of users 28th Apr '06 2:44 PM

I've been meaning to sort out a better way of doing user profiles for ages - uploading user pictures, changing details, etc.

So, I'm going to start on it, er, probably this weekend.

Once it's done, I can add more fun stuff, like a user profile page. Anyone got any requests for what to put on it? A few people wanted their ICQ's and AIM's on it, which I'll do.

Other options include getting feedback from the schools you work in, which would let you make a pretty cool online CV/resume with references. Might even let you get student comments, all like in the school reviews.

So, folks, help me out. Let me know what you'd like to see. Bear in mind I'm looking at things that'll help us:

a) Get better jobs

b) Make useful contacts

A user 'blog' is probably a tad on the ambitious side at the moment (someone emailed and asked about it), but it's not ruled out!

This is the result of much buggering about with some particularly obstinate and tricky code, so I hope you all enjoy it!

And now the quote feature should work from the topic page:
